Future?

I’ll soon reaching 21. And that’s depressing ~.~

I know 5 couples around my age who are already married in these 2 years. And that’s errr scarry? ~.~

When you’re in school, you only have to worry about assignments, grades and friends around your age. But when you’re in your 20s, seriously, it hits me right in the head, time to think about the future…

What to do?

When we’re talking about future, the typical question is, what are you going to do after graduated from uni? Grad school? Work? And after some years of work…. A marriage?

*facepalm*

Yeah, of course I have my short-term plan :

  1. getting a DT internship through AIESEC in China/HK/Taiwan this winter (Dec2010-Jan2011)
  2. getting an MT internship through AIESEC in Europe/US/Canada next summer 2011
  3. Graduate from uni!

Apparently, to get an MT position in Europe/Canada, I have to learn the 3rd language because the companies demand so. So the options are : French, German, or Mandarin. I chose French because it is one of the United Nations’ official languages (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) and by learing French, I can apply to both Europe and Canada. Well, I will also learn Chinese (Mandarin) conversationally *now I regret stopping my Mandarin lesson back then in primary and junior high school* >.<”

Hopefully, I can master official languages of United Nations (English, French, Chinese) :D

My long-term plan?

  1. Grad school / Get a job related to my field (most of the vacancies in the UN required 5 years experience and grad/post-grad degree)
  2. Joining United Nations in their HQ in NYC! =P Well, it’s my dream actually, since I was a little kid. I am paving my way to the HQ, started by joining AIESEC, the largest youth organization in the world which is focusing on leadership and world issues, as a stepping stone, I am planning to continue paving my way on pursuing my dreams by participating United Nations Youth Assembly this summer in the HQ! :D :D The fact that Martti Ahtisaari, a former President of AIESEC Finland (1963-1965) was able to be the United Nations diplomat and 2008 Nobel Peace Prize winner, is really motivated and inspired me to keep on pursuing my dreams.
  3. Seriously, I know people will include marriage in their long term plan, but I have no idea what to plan about this =.=” Therefore, better not talking about this now. xD
  4. Start a business/invest.

I know things sometimes won’t go as easy as the plan, well, not sometimes, but always? Therefore, Plan B or Plan C is needed. xD

    The future awaits!

    thought? anyone?
